ORANGE COUNTY MONUMENTS DONATED PLAQUE TO HONOR FAMILY THAT GREW THE ROCKEFELLER TREE

Orange County Monuments Donated Plaque To Honor Family That Grew The Rockefeller Tree.

Travis Monument Group was honored to donate a plaque honoring a family friend’s tree that was donated for the annual Rockefeller Center Christmas tree. In 1959, Mrs. Schultz and her children bought a Christmas tree while it was very small and fragile. The “incubated” the tree in a pot and there it sat until it was time to be planted in their yard, where over the years it grew to 77 feet tall. The Norway Spruce was just perfect in size and shape, and it was selected by the head groundskeeper at Rockefeller Center.

We carefully consulted with the family and designed the piece to the family’s exacting vision and Tom Minozzi carved it perfectly. Charles Minozzi Sr. expertly recess mounted the custom porcelain photo of the tree and Alan rounded out the team by managing and coordinating production to the last detail, and there with Anthony, helping lift the 130lb marker.

Below are the photos of the ceremony where are the plaque was presented. The plaque was made from North American Granite and family artisans and will be placed at the site where the tree was Planted more than 50 years ago.
