Honor Your Loved One’s Traditions
One of our main goals at Travis Monument Group is to create customized memorials that truly encapsulate the life of your loved one. Adding elements to their monument that honor their heritage and traditions is a beautiful way to memorialize their life and create a meaningful tie to future generations. Many of the families we serve choose to celebrate their Irish heritage by adding Irish and Celtic symbols to their loved one’s monument. Our experts will take the time to understand your loved one and will work with you to help design a beautiful monument to honor your family’s Irish heritage.
Why Do Families Choose Irish or Celtic Memorials?
The Irish community has a long history of honoring their loved ones who pass with full funeral services and a celebration of life or wake. Many families choose to celebrate their heritage with a visual representation on their chosen monument not just as a way of honoring their heritage but also as a way to create a bond with future generations.
Our ancestry and family traditions can help us feel connected to those we have lost, even if they are no longer present to participate. At Travis Monument Group, our professionals will go over all your Irish & Celtic memorialization options with you to help you create a memorial that perfectly reflects your loved one.
Examples of Our Design Work
The Celtic Cross is one of the most recognized symbols seen on memorials for those with Irish heritage. Monuments generally either feature the Celtic Cross as an engraving or etching on the face of a stone, or a stone can be carved in the shape of the cross. The Celtic Cross features a traditional cross with an added circle around the center of the cross. The center ring is said to represent infinite love.
The Irish Claddagh symbol, featuring two hands holding a heart wearing a crown is a popular choice for engraving and etching on memorials. The heart in the Claddagh symbolizes love while the clasping hands represent friendship and the crown represents loyalty.
Celtic knots are a variety of different graphic knot shapes that are seen extensively in Celtic decoration and are often seen inside the Celtic Cross. Celtic knots have no beginning or end and represent eternity and life. The popular Celtic Trinity knot can also represent the three stages of life or the Holy Trinity.
In my time of sorrow at the loss of my husband I was helped through the purchase of the memorial the Travis family was very caring and helpful.
